[...] Last week, on my way home from a long day of work, I decided to stop by the local liquor store. This place has a pretty good selection of beers from different places. “Different” as in not from Anheuser Busch. It was a cold night and I decided to pick up a hearty beer. I chose the Great Lakes Brewing Company Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that I recently reviewed the Great Lakes Brewing Co. Burning River Pale Ale over on Walt’s personal blog. [...]

I'm a beer lover, and look forward to all of your beer reviews. As a reader who's only frequented cigar related sites/blogs, what sites would you recommend for beer reviews?

I am in no way a wine expert, but I make a hobby of trying to find decent wine at affordable prices. I only drink big red wines, usually cabernet or pino noir. When you drink your wines keep track of what region they are from and what type of wine it is. Wines from France are named by what region they are grown in, where most other places name the wine after the grape used. My tastes lean toward California, Chile, Argentina, and Australia. Once you learn where you lke your wine from it will help you find others you will probably enjoy, it will also help you when in a restaurant and looking at a list of 300 wines you never heard of.
Two cheaper recommendations I can make are Oak Grove Cabernet (CA), and The Little Penguin (Aust) which my local store sells 3 large bottles for $25, nice daily price.
