Innuendo aside (admit it, I made you think of ‘The D’), I really miss competitive shooting. It has been a long summer and I am long overdue for putting some lead down range.
Between my wife’s intense schedule, our recent move, and all of the other craziness that life has thrown at us, I haven’t been out to the range since the end of May.
I’ve missed so much in such a short time. Thanks to Facebook and YouTube, I’ve been able to keep up with the local news. Friends are moving up in Class, others are making the jump to other divisions. Watching from the sidelines has sucked.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Ontelaunee USPSA returns in September and runs until December. While I’ve never been a big fan of shooting on Sunday, these days it is the only day that I have a better than 90% chance of being able to shoot (Saturdays are hit or miss and they haven’t been good).
The Mid Atlantic Sectional is coming up in October and I’m going to do everything I can to make it. In fact, I’m going to schedule some vacation time from work so that I can be there to lend a hand during setup (I would have registered already but I can’t spare the registration fee at the moment).
The best news of all is that my wife’s schedule should settle down considerably at the end of the year. This means that next season should be entirely different for me.
