Over the past week I’ve been looking into joining a local archery club. In my search I’m looking for a club that is kid friendly, shoots year-round, and offers the membership an outdoor walking course. I’ve narrowed it down to a couple of clubs and turned to YouTube in hopes of finding some club video to give me an idea of how the club operates.
I struck out looking for local video but stumbled onto the Archery.TV Channel and would up watching the Match #1 Video for the 2012 Indoor Archery World Championships in Las Vegas
. From here I went further down the proverbial rabbit hole and stumbled onto the Pilot Episode of Nock Out.
The episode was very reminiscent of Top Shot but featured Compound Shooters battling it out in a Reality TV Format. I’m not typically interested in these types of shows but I went ahead and watched it anyway. I must say, I was impressed. The episode was missing the typical TV Drama and instead featured competitors who were well mannered and great shots.
I don’t know if or when future episodes will be released (the first was published in July) but I have subscribed to the channel and look forward to seeing what comes next. Cool show, I’d heard wind of it but never knew if it got filmed. Anything to promote archery is neat, especially competitive target and field types. Thanks for bringing it out to see.
