Change is difficult but it must be done

Since I started WaltInPA.com as a New Year’s Resolution back in 2009, this blog has seen a few changes. In the early days it was just a place for me to place random thoughts and stories. After that, topics shifted to books and reviews, eventually turning to guns and the shooting sports.

While I’ve always enjoyed blogging, I’ve come to the painful realization that married life with a child leads to a life full of twists and turns. I can’t dedicate my time to a single subject anymore and as a result, my little space on the web has become stagnant.

I would absolutely love to be shooting USPSA, IDPA, and Archery every weekend but the truth is, I can’t. Not only is it expensive, there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Between spending time with my family and everything that goes along with it, I just can’t manage to sneak away at a moments notice to spend five hours at the range and then come home, jump on my computer, and post about it.

Going forward I’m going to enjoy doing a little bit of everything and this blog is going to follow suit. I’ll still have USPSA Match Video and talk about Archery but you’ll also be seeing a lot of random topics about everyday life.

Spending time with my family and participating in a little bit of all my various hobbies will make me happy. Hopefully, a happy me will lead to more writing because it is also a hobby that I enjoy.

My name is Walt White and I've been riding motorcycles on and off since my early twenties. After more than a decade away from the sport, I came back - and I've been making up for lost time ever since. Based in Southeast Pennsylvania, I write and create videos about real motorcycle ownership: the bikes I ride, the gear I test, the roads I explore, and the community I've found along the way. I ride a 2022 Yamaha MT-09 SP and a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400, and I try to give you the honest take you'd get from a friend rather than a press release. I'm also a husband, dad to three girls, and a pitbull owner - which keeps life interesting off the bike too.
