A couple of weeks back there was a bit of a stir in the local IDPA scene. News broke that Guthsville Rod and Gun Club was canceling their IDPA Program and attendees were upset. The information being spread pointed to the Guthsville Board of Directors being behind the cancellation of the program.
About a week after I wrote a long winded post making villains out of the Guthsville Board of Directors, I started to hear tid-bits of information that things may not be all that they appeared to be. This was confirmed at the March Ontelaunee IDPA Match when Dair Bair pulled me aside to talk.
Despite the the rumors, Guthsville IDPA was in jeopardy because there was no one to run the program. Dave Bair decided to step up and take on the roll as Match Director. Dave went on to tell me that it was very important to him to keep the program alive, in memory of Burt Schaffer.
Dave will continue to run the Ontelaunee IDPA program as well as the Intro to IDPA
program at Ontelaunee.
Guthsville IDPA Matches will resume on April 7th 2013
