Halloween Archery Challenge

Halloween Archery Challenge

Right before Halloween, we had ourselves a little party for the kids after our Monday Night Youth ProgramOpens in a new tab.. One of the parents baked cupcakes and brought in all sorts of goodies – including Halloween Themed TargetsOpens in a new tab..

At the end of the night, the kids were all sugared up and on their way home. It was a fantastic time and I was proud to have one of our members take it upon themselves to do something so nice for the kids.

With Natalie looking for ideas for her next video, I suggested maybe we have ourselves a little Halloween Archery Challenge. It was a day or so after Halloween by why let all of those cool targets go to waste?

The game was pretty simple. We would both shoot at a Mummy Target and race to scoring 300 Points. Natalie’s target was situated at 5 Yards and mine was set at 20 yards. Arrows scored the point value inside the “Bug”. Any hit on the target, outside of a bug, scored 20 points.

In retrospect, I should have made it so that I didn’t get any points for missing a bug. The game was over in three ends and Natalie seemed a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like to let me kids win because they are kids but I do want it to be a challenge for the both of us.

Walt

My name is Walt White and I've been riding motorcycles on and off since my early twenties. After more than a decade away from the sport, I came back - and I've been making up for lost time ever since. Based in Southeast Pennsylvania, I write and create videos about real motorcycle ownership: the bikes I ride, the gear I test, the roads I explore, and the community I've found along the way. I ride a 2022 Yamaha MT-09 SP and a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400, and I try to give you the honest take you'd get from a friend rather than a press release. I'm also a husband, dad to three girls, and a pitbull owner - which keeps life interesting off the bike too.
