WaltInPA Discord Group Ride

In March, the guys from the WaltInPA Discord Server got together for our first Group Ride of the Season. We road from Zieglerville to the Louis J. Moscaro Automotive MuseumOpens in a new tab. in Bordsboro. From there, we rode to the Morgantown Coffee HouseOpens in a new tab. for Lunch.

My total mileage for the day was close to 100 Miles. The turnout was lighter than I originally planned for (cold weather and sickness drove a few people away), but It was great to see Pat, Goofy BastardOpens in a new tab., and Untamed RideOpens in a new tab.. I had an excellent time and very much look forward to our next group ride.

Please consider joining the Free WaltInPA Discord ServerOpens in a new tab.. It is a great opportunity to get to know some local Pennsylvania Riders (as well as some riders from out of state) and perhaps join us on an upcoming Motorcycle Group Ride.

Michelin Road 6 Tire Pressure Problem

Back in September, I took my 2022 Yamaha MT-09 SP over to Martin Moto in Boyertown to have new tires installed. After some deliberation, I went with a set of Michelin Road 6. I wound up ordering them myself to save a few dollars and intended to install them myself (to save a lot more dollars), and I wound up breaking my Rear Brake Caliper in the process.

After some downtime, the MT-09 was fixed and back on the road. Since then, I’ve put roughly 1,000 Miles on my new tires, and so far, I have nothing bad to say about them. They grip well – both in the wet and dry. They seem to be wearing well, with no apparent flat spot in the tire yet.

The only issue I faced was a nearly flat tire. I was concerned that I must have picked up a nail, but several checks didn’t show a leak. I’ve done some research, and it seems that some softer compound tires allow air to permeate them, creating low-pressure problems if you don’t check them often enough.

With the MT-09 sitting for a couple of weeks over the winter, I suppose that the tire lost air and dropped to severely low pressure. I’ve checked it numerous times since then, and the problem seems to have resolved itself.

Motorcycle Blog Content

I’ve been spending some time writing Motorcycle Based Blog Content for WaltInPA. The articles discussed in the Motorcycle Adjacent Podcast: Episode 17 are listed below.

Total Control IRC (Intermediate Riding Clinic)

The Motorcycle Adjacent Podcast: Episode 17 was recorded a few days before I attended the Total Control IRC (Intermediate Riding Clinic) in Norristown, PA. I spent a little time talking about what I expected to get from that class as well as my desire to attend the Total Control ARC (Advanced Riding Clinic).

I have since attended the Total Control IRC and have detailed my experience at the link above.
