A few weeks back I got this crazy notion that I wanted to Build a Backyard Archery Range. While it would never compare to what Stowe Archers and Hamburg Game Association have to offer, it would give me a place to shoot a few arrows when I’m short on time. Stowe Archers Christmas Indoor 600 Round

In ArcheryTags 600 Round, Archery, Target, VegasNovember 14, 2013Leave a comment Walt

A little more than a week ago I was sitting in Hamburg Game Association, having a beer and something to eat, with Troy. We had just finished up a hunt at Hawk Mountain and decided to stop in for a quick beer and something to eat on our way home. One of the subjects to come up was the Christmas Indoor 600 Round Tournament at Stowe Archers. It was described as a well run target archery tournament in a nice …

DIY USPSA Targets

In Firearms, USPSATags Target, USPSAJanuary 2, 20132 Comments Walt

As you may have noticed from yesterdays New Year’s / Anniversary Post, one of my most popular articles from 2012 was on Making my own IDPA Targets. I put that post together back in June of 2011 with the intention of making a series which included Metric and Classic USPSA Targets. For whatever reason, that series never materialized and I’ve had it on the back burner ever since. I’m going to change that today. Back when I put the original …

Instagram post 2194655705206466528_205973269 8 Miles in the woods today - we’re both beat!
Instagram post 2188903448250909365_205973269 When I first heard about the concept of an Infinity Bottle - I knew I had to make one. While putting it together I thought it would be amazing (lots of good whiskey went into the bottle). The finished product is... well, a little weird...
.
I’m looking forward to tinkering with it and seeing how it evolves over time.

Instagram post 2185999451068158668_205973269 Nice mild night to be out in the deck with a cigar and a little Makers Mark. Also picked up a bottle of Maker’s 46 - I’m curious how they compare.

Instagram post 2179511146457681213_205973269 Took the dog for a walk and decided to finish off my cigar with a little Monkey Shoulder when I got back. It’s a nice change of pace but I think I like bourbon a little better.

Instagram post 2174349788267187207_205973269 Back in my youth I remember the occasional shot of Wild Turkey 101 and how rough it was. At least a decade later, pored neat and sipped on, this goes down surprisingly easy. At $25 per bottle I’d say this is definitely one of the more memorable “Budget Bourbons” I’ve had.

Instagram post 2172774119846693508_205973269 I have a bad habit of not posting these right away. This is from last night - one of the few nights I got to get away from work and just hang out with the guys at @gilbertsvillecigarfactory.
