I want to preface this by saying that the video accompanying this book was done in the heat of the moment. I fired up the camcorder right after I finished reading and the juices of disappointment were flowing freely. While the story had its interesting points, it was the first book in the series that I actually thought was a chore to read.
I found myself avoiding putting the book down, not because it was suspenseful, but because I simply wanted to be done with it and get back to the main storyline. Rather than focus on Richard and Kahlan, it instead introduced two new characters and stayed with them up until about the last seventy-five pages.

This CB750F restoration update is a little different from my usual garage videos. Just a quick ride to talk through where the project stands and why the bike still isn't in my garage yet. The...

I do not like when writers do this sort of thing! Why throw a book in on these other characters and take so much attention away from the main story line…sheesh.
7 down 4 and a half (debt of bones) to go 🙂

Walt, try The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End by Ken Follett. Two of the best fiction books I have ever read.
Kyle,
I’m just about done with the Sword of Truth Series. I’ve got about 200 pages left in “Chainfire” then Confessor, then the Novella Debt of Bones. After those I’m on to a new series. I’ll add your suggestion to my list
Thanks
