Motorcycle Group Ride – Cool Cars and Pork Belly Sandwiches

A small group of friends from the WaltInPA Discord ServerOpens in a new tab. will get together to go on a Casual Group Motorcycle Ride. We will meet at the Wawa in Zieglerville and travel to the Louis J. Mascaro Automotive Museum in Birdsboro. After spending some time at the museum, we will travel to Morgantown Coffee House for Lunch.

As all Group Rides go with our little crew – this is a Casual Ride. We will take our time and enjoy some of Southeast PA’s excellent backroads. If you want to join us, I suggest joining the WaltInPA Discord ServerOpens in a new tab. to get to know the group.

Louis J. Mascaro Automotive Museum

After we leave Wawa, we will travel to the Louis J. Mascaro Automotive Museum – located at 325 E Main St in Birdsboro. The Museum hours are from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. There is an Admission Fee of $15.00 per person.

The Museum has a list of Rules and Regulations for Guests. Some of the rules that specifically apply to our group are as follows.

Handheld photography is permitted. Tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are not. We welcome visitors to photograph or video the exhibited vehicles.

Large over oversized backpacks, camera bags, purses, diaper bags, and other similar items as determined by management must be stored in the security office on the first floor.

Rider Meeting

It has been said multiple times at this point, but I want to stress one last time that this is a Casual Group Ride at a Relaxed Pace. Our route consists mainly of backcountry roads where we can enjoy the curves and take in the scenery of Southeast Pennsylvania. If this does not sound like a good time, this ride probably isn’t for you.

We will ride in a staggered formation at a comfortable pace for everyone. The lead and tail bikes will be connected to one another via a Sena Mesh Network. In the event that the group gets separated, we’ll use comms to make sure we get synced back up once again. This will likely result in us pulling into a parking lot to regroup.

In the event of a breakdown or incident, the primary concern of the group is to control traffic while the situation is assessed.

Wawa to Louis J. Mascaro Automotive Museum

Our initial route will take us North through the Green Lane area. We’ll be taking a number of back roads through Bechtelsville and Douglassille – passing through both the Pleasantville Covered BridgeOpens in a new tab. and the Greisemer’s Mill Covered Bridge. We will then head south to cross Route 422 and enter Birdsboro.

Louis J. Mascaro Automotive Museum to Morgantown Coffee House

We are planning on spending an hour or so at the Louis J. Mascaro Automotive Museum – having us departing around 11:30 am. We have some flexibility here, so if the group wishes to stick around a little longer, we can accommodate some additional time.

In the event that someone needs a fuel stop, we will be passing by a small gas station. This is the only convenient place for fuel along our route.

This portion of our ride is approximately 34 Miles, and our estimated travel time to Morgantown Coffee House is approximately 55 minutes.

Morgantown Coffee House to Wawa

I believe that Morgantown Coffee House will be a good breaking-off point for most riders. If you would like to extend your ride and return back to the starting point – you are welcome to join me.

This portion of our ride is approximately 34 Miles, and our estimated travel time back to our starting point at the Zeiglerville Wawa is approximately 50 minutes.

Communication

Several group members use Sena In-Helmet CommunicatorsOpens in a new tab. (Mesh Network) to communicate while we ride. We find this tremendously helpful to keep the group together, and it is also a lot of fun to chat while we ride! You are welcome to join the Mesh Network.

If you have an older Bluetooth Communicator (or use another brand), we may be able to accommodate you using Discord Voice Chat over a Smartphone Data Connection. This solution isn’t ideal, but we’ve used it with varying levels of success in the past.

Video and Audio Recording

Several Group Members partake in Motovlogging and create Motorcycle Content for YouTube. If you are uncomfortable being included in the video, please speak up so we can accommodate you. Additionally, our Voice Communications may also be recorded for use in Video.
