Shooting The Breeze Podcast: Episode 24

Four Kicks and Federal Ammo - 1

This weeks episode of Shooting The Breeze was rather interesting. If you watch the video closely (or listen closely, for you audio folks out there) you can actually see me get sick during the podcast. In the middle of the first news story I had sinus pressure creep up on me and only get worse throughout the podcast.

Having recorded this episode at the last minute, I decided to soldier on and continue recording. As you would imagine, just before the podcast ends, my congestion lifts and all is right again. Rather than go back and re-record the painful parts, I left everything as-is, mainly because thats how I roll (yeah, I just said that….. lol)

Discussion Topic:

Now that the long wait for USPSA Classification is over, I am able to sit down and start creating a couple of goals for the upcoming season. In addition to goals, I talk a little on how a small shooting team should gently prod me into shooting better. Finally, I talk a little about the sponsorship of that laid-back shooting team by Custom Gun FinishesOpens in a new tab..

  1. Great show walt. New york , New york , the city so nice they named it twice:) My big question in all of that is didn’t the airline have to give him the firearm? Or was it carry on? If the overboard TSA lets you carry a gun on the plane doesn’t that make new york just look downright insane?

    1. You have to check the gun in a locked container and declare it with the airline. From what I understand, his flight was delayed and he had to stay overnight or something. When he went to the airport to re-check his gun, he was arrested on gun charges.

What makes this whole thing so bad is that Mark’s action were covered under the Firearms Owners Protection Act, however, New Jersey and New York have a history of ignoring it.

  2. Nice show once again. I was waiting to here the m&p vs G17 the whole show. Have you shot the glock yet? Maybe on another show.

    1. Joe,
I haven’t shot the G17 yet (and it is killing me). I actually dropped it off to have it Duracoated. Once I get it back, and if the weather cooperates, I’ll do some video of my first shots.

Thanks for checking out the podcast and leaving a comment.

  3. Hey Walt,

Another great episode, and thanks for soldiering through and getting the show out this week. Congrats on getting sponsored, its every shooting enthusiasts dream to have that support.

    Nick

  4. You did good again, even if you were ”plugged-up”. I’m sure you can hardly wait to shoot that G17.

  5. Great show Walt as always. Sucks about the wrapper but its a solid stick one of my Fav. You didn’t tell me you formed a shooting team or got a sponser congrats man thats major. We need to get out and shoot soon its been to long. Hope all is well. Glad to see you checking out IDPA love the videos.

    1. Corey,
The Four Kicks is a great cigar, I can see why it is one of your favorites.

The shooting team is pretty new. I didn’t form it, the credit for that goes to Scott. I was just in the right place at the right time 🙂

We are definitely over-do for some shooting. Maybe when the weather starts to warm up we can set something up.

Thanks for checking out the video.
