I Finally Finished the Dewey Rides PanAmerica Series

I’ve been binging the Dewey Rides PanAmerica series for the past couple of weeks, and this morning I watched the last video.

123 videos. Two years of content. And honestly, I didn’t want it to end.

What Got Me Hooked on the Dewey Rides PanAmerica Series

I’m not going to lie, I stumbled into this series and just kept going. One video led to the next, and before long I was carving out time every day to watch another chunk of it. That’s how you know something’s got its hooks in you.

The riding is great. The scenery is great. But that’s not actually what kept me coming back.

What kept me watching was the people. Watching Dewey navigate situations where he needed help, and then just seeing random people show up and come through for him – that’s the stuff that sticks with you. He built real friendships out there. Not “hey nice to meet you, here’s my Instagram” friendships. Actual, keep-in-touch, lifelong connections with people he met on the road.

That was the thread running through the whole series for me. Doesn’t matter where you go in the world – there are good people out there, and they will help you if you need it.

The Ending Hit Different Than I Expected

The last video had a thumbnail that just said The End. I figured that meant the end of the trip. Made sense.

But then Dewey gets to talking, and he drops it – the channel as we know it is done.

I wasn’t ready for that. I’ve been watching this guy ride across the world for weeks. I got invested. Finding out it was over felt like finishing a really good series and realizing there’s no next season. That little gut-punch of well, now what?

I was already a little bummed that the PanAmerica series had wrapped up, and then that hit on top of it. Not a great moment, not gonna lie.

Then I Watched His Live Stream With NooBiker

After finishing the series I saw that Dewey had done a live stream with NooBiker – about an hour and twenty minutes of the two of them talking through the journey. I like NooBiker’s channel, so I figured I’d throw it on.

Worth it.

They talked a lot about what the series meant, what it took out of him, and what Dewey took away from the whole experience. A lot of it came back to the same thing I noticed watching – the relationships. The people he met along the way who made the whole thing possible and made it mean something.

What Dewey Actually Said About the Channel

Here’s where I want to pump the brakes a little, because I think I – and maybe a lot of people – may have jumped to conclusions after that last video.

During the live stream, Dewey clarified a bit. He was careful with his words. He said something like: the channel as you know it is over. Not the channel. Just the channel as we know it.

His point was that the era of consistent weekly uploads, scheduled posts, that grind – he’s done with that. And I get it completely. What he put into that series was enormous. He’s earned a break.

But he also said he’d still likely post if he goes on an interesting ride or does something worth sharing. So it’s not a funeral. It’s more like he’s shifting gears.

That made me feel better about the whole thing. I’d rather have occasional content from Dewey when it means something to him than a schedule he’s grinding through just to hit a posting cadence.

So What Do I Watch Next?

Now I’m sitting here with a Dewey-shaped hole in my watch queue and no clear plan. If you’ve been in the same boat – finished a long moto series and had to figure out what to fill it with – you know the feeling.
