Get A Range Bag On The Cheap

Range Box - 1

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been seeing more and more Facebook Posts on the subject of guns. Not the political type, thankfully, but various friends getting more involved with shooting. One of the common themes has been “I need to get a range bag”.

In my early days of going to the range (I say that like I’ve been shooting for 50 years), I used to use plastic grocery bags to hold my ammo and targets. It didn’t take long for that to get old and I upgraded to a Craftsman Toolbox. The toolbox actually worked out very well and allowed me to store ammo, cleaning supplies, safety glasses, hearing protection, and miscellaneous odds & ends all on one convenient place.

My inexpensive Range Box served me well for about 6 months, until it was replaced with a Midway USA Competition Range BagOpens in a new tab.. I got the Midway Range Bag during a Black Friday Sale and only spent about $30 for it (plus another $15, or so, for shipping – which is why I use Brownells these days, but I digress…).

My Midway Range bag has served me well for the last couple of years. Despite the drops, kicks, mud, rain, and general abuse from me, it is still in pretty good shape. I stuff it full of various things and it has been great for USPSA and IDPA Shooting. If you are in the market for a Range Bag that will hold a lot of gear, you should seriously consider a Midway USA Competition Range Bag (I’d wait for it to go on sale though, but that is just me).

Lets say you’ve gone one or two guns and minimal gear to haul to the range. The Midway bag is far too big for your needs. There is a compact version of the same bag but even that might still be a little big for your needs. What if you could get a 16″L x 10″W x 8″H bag for $9.99 and free shipping?

If that sounds good, then you’re in luck!. I was paging through the Cabela’s Holiday Catalog and came across their Catch-All Gear Bag at a reduced price. I headed over to the website to purchase one and also found a Free Shipping Code. I wound up getting two bags for about $22 after sales tax.

The sale is good until December 4, 2013 so if you’re going to get one, you’re going to have to do it quick. The Free Shipping Code is 3WINTER

  1. Those bags look like they would work perfect for handgun shooting /range trips.I have a seprate range bag just for shooting handgun so I don’t have to load all of the gear I use when I shoot rifles . It makes for a quicker time loading up to go to the range.
