You haven’t posted anything on WaltInPA for a while. What is up with that?

Last week, I was driving down the road with my wife and daughter. We were in the Mommy Mobile (My Wife’s Mini-Van) heading to our old house to pack up a few things. As my daughter’s head was bobbing, drifting in and out of sleep, my wife turned to me and said “You know, you haven’t posted anything on WaltInPA for a while. What is up with that?”

The comment took me by surprise. My wife rarely talks about my blog and I practically have to force her to read it when I need a second opinion. If she was telling me I was overdue for a new post, it meant that things were worse off than I thought.

This is the part of the post where I lay out all of my excuses and try to make you understand why I’ve been neglecting the tens of you that read my little space on the web. While I’ve got plenty of excuses, I’ll spare you having to read them. I’ll just say that moving into a new home while prepping your old one for the market is more demanding that I anticipated (and to be fair, I expected to be pretty busy but this is kind of insane).

Along with the lack of posts here, I haven’t been doing much in the way of USPSA, IDPA, or Archery. I’m having difficulty finding spare time to shoot and, when by some odd chance I can find the time, I haven’t been able to get a babysitter to take care of my daughter while I’m out (My wife has a pretty crazy work / school schedule).

The one thing I have been able to do, which I’m rather proud of, is return to my exercise routine. For the last three weeks I have been chipping away at the Focus T25 program that I tried a few months back. Over the winter and spring I put on close to 20 pounds and I’ happy to see it start to come back off. On Monday and Tuesday I even had my wife join me (I’d really like to see this become a regular thing for us – with her schedule we don’t get to do a whole lot together).

Every night, before going to bed, I’ve been gathering my Jawbone UP Band Stats and posting them to Facebook. I talk a little bit about my day and try to use social media as an accountability tool. It dawned on me, several days ago, that those updates were probably better suited for WaltInPA. Perhaps going forward I’ll post them here as well (Posting from Facebook is just easier as I can do it from my phone while cooling down from my workout).

If you’d like to follow along but we aren’t connected via FacebookOpens in a new tab., I’ve attached a few Status Updates below.
