Anyone that puts serious consideration into training with a firearm comes across the name Massad Ayoob at some point during their research. Mas has an excellent reputation in the gun community and has been teaching students for a number of years. The MAG-40 (Massad Ayoob Group – 40 Hours) class routinely gets rave reviews and classes tend to fill up fast.
I’m sorry to say that I’ve never been able to take a class offered by Massad Ayoob but it is on the list of things that I would love to do. Training isn’t cheap (I wouldn’t consider it out of line either) and spans four ten-hour days (for the MAG 40 Class) split between classroom and range time.
If this type of class sounds like something you would like to take advantage of, I have some good news for those of you in the general area. I got word from Paul Bissman, a friend from the Walt In PA Facebook Page, that Mas and company will be in Maryland in August to put on a class.
After attending the MAG-40 class in Utah (Sept 2012) with the Gun Dudes, I knew that I had to bring the class to Marylanders and those close to the Eastern Shore. With the help of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department, the class will be held at their range in August 2013. I’ve attached a flyer that I have created for this class.
If you, or anyone you know would like to attend, there are instructions and contact info on the flyer.
This is a phenomenal class especially in today’s environment when the MD GSA is trying to impose new laws on gun owners. The potential ruling about conceal carry licenses may open up the possibility for everyone to carry in Maryland. However, our left-leaning politicians will certainly have a training requirement implemented. There is no denying that Massad Ayoob is one of the best trainers in the world.
My delegate, Mr. Mike McDermott (38-B), is also a LT. Worcester County Deputy Sheriff. He is very pro-gun and is the rangemaster at the Newark, MD Sheriff’s range where the event is being held.
We appreciate your help. Currently we have 7 paid attendees and 13-15 spots available.
