
As expected, my day three contribution to my National Novel Writing Month project was less than I would have liked. Having such a rocky day yesterday left my writing in disarray. I spent a solid hour pruning yesterdays writing and only managed to add about four hundred words to the chapter I was working on. Even though my word count was less than desired, I was happy with the end result. I moved on to the following chapter later in the evening and roughed out a bit more.
I’m checking out for the day with a grand total of 5,109 words. That places me just beyond the target word count for three days, which is great, but I wish I was further along. Tomorrow I hope to tune tonights writing a bit and rough out another 1,700 words. I’m finding it difficult to keep pace with the day to day goings on of life, but it is an experience that I am enjoying.
Tomorrow looks to be a busy day and I may wind up straggling a bit. Hopefully I can make it up over the weekend and pull ahead a bit with some creative usage of spare time.
