Over the past couple of weeks I have become a regular reader of Pistol-Training.com
. I find the drills and information to be very educational and thought joining their forum would only add to the vast supply of information they make available.
Once I was signed up, I did a fair amount of reading. One of the things I found most interesting was the recent addition of a Weekly Drill. Once I was familiar with the way it worked, I made a plan to try and incorporate the drills into my range trips.
Due to restrictions at my local range, I wasn’t sure how much I would be able to participate. Fortunately, the Week 1 Drill was straightforward and didn’t require shooting on the move or drawing from a holster (I’ll be able to do that once my membership comes in from Topton Fish & Game).
I was really pressed for time this week but I was able to make it over to the range on Sunday and shoot the drill. I shot it twice before I had to start packing up. I brought my video equipment along so that I could review the footage later.
Week 1 Drill from Pistol-Forum.com
Range: 25yd
Target: NRA B8 replacement center
Start position: Any
Rounds fired: 10Fire ten rounds at the 8.5×11 B8 replacement center target. There is no time limit.
Add up the score for all ten shots. Keep in mind that the “7” ring is visible but not identified, and the four corners of the target are technically the “6” ring. For hits on the line between two scoring zones, use the higher scoring value only if the grease ring of the bullet hole cuts the line between the two zones. Tears and other marks that are greater than the bullet’s diameter do not count for scoring. Shots that do not hit the sheet of paper score zero.

Hey Walt, Great Video, one of these days I’ll get back out there with ya. how is the trigger on that it looks like a very short reset?
Corey,
It doesn’t have a very crisp reset but it is fairly short. I’m still working on finding it quickly. Sometimes I let the trigger out a little too far and other times not far enough.
