Range Report: Smith & Wesson M&P (09/10/2011)

Range Trip - Sept 10 2011 - 1

Over the past couple of weeks I have been posting range report videos. These have gotten some good feedback and were easy enough to do with the help of my trusty Flip Camera. I wanted to do more though, so when I saw that Contour HD Body Mounted Cameras were marked down in price, I ordered one. The process has gotten more complicated with editing two HD Videos and incorporating them into the same iMovie project, but I really like the results.

In addition to posting my range video here and asking for suggestions, I also posted it over on the PAFOAOpens in a new tab. Forum (I have been a member there for a few years and find that it has lots of information on PA Gun Law and beyond). I’ve already received some feedback and plan to incorporate it into my next range trip. I knew my shooting needed a lot of work but it turns out a lot of work was a gross understatement. On the bright side, all feedback has been constructive and helps me see where I need to focus my immediate attention.

Walt

My name is Walt White and I've been riding motorcycles on and off since my early twenties. After more than a decade away from the sport, I came back - and I've been making up for lost time ever since. Based in Southeast Pennsylvania, I write and create videos about real motorcycle ownership: the bikes I ride, the gear I test, the roads I explore, and the community I've found along the way. I ride a 2022 Yamaha MT-09 SP and a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400, and I try to give you the honest take you'd get from a friend rather than a press release. I'm also a husband, dad to three girls, and a pitbull owner - which keeps life interesting off the bike too.

  1. Hey man my son and I sat here and watched your new video really cool cam work. How do you like the new Stance do you feel it keeps you more grounded and steady? Looks like its working for you so far.

    1. Corey,
I feel more grounded but it is causing problems. I have no consistency, so to speak, and I’m craning my neck in order to look straight down the sights.

I’m going to have to do some reading/watching and hit the range again soon.
