The Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Made a Liar Out of Me

Back in 2013, Smith & Wesson rolled out an advertising campaign for a new gun. Gun People across the web began to take notice and there was a lot of speculation as to what would be released. When word finally broke that Smith & Wesson would be bringing out a single stack 9mm, modeled after their popular M&P Line, there was a frenzy of interest. As friends in the gun community began buying them (or being put on waiting lists …

Way back on January 1st of 2009 I sat down and started a blog. At that time I had been blogging for about 3 years as co-founder of Stogie Review. The popularity of that site was growing but I found that talking about cigars all the time was beginning to burn me out. I needed an outlet for the random things in life that interested me, so as a New Years Resolution, I started Walt In PA. In the beginning …

Shot Coach: May 2014 Lower Providence USPSA Match

Last week I came across Max Michel’s Shot Coach App in the iTunes App Store. I payed the $4.99 and began playing with the app on my iPad. It didn’t take long to get the hang of the app and I was producing videos in no time. Since the Results for the Lower Providence USPSA Match aren’t available yet (the match was only yesterday), I went ahead and produced a video with Max Michel’s Shot Coach App and my Pivothead …

Several years ago I got a call from a friend asking if I had the weekend free to head out to Central / Western Pennsylvania for ‘Man’s Weekend’. The event boiled down to a group of friends going out to hunting cabin on 550 acres. During the day we would work around the property. After a few hours of labor, we would hit the makeshift gun range and send lead flying down range. In the evening we would have a …

Replacing my OEM Glock 17 Barrel with a Lone Wolf

Earlier this year I was in a bit of a bind. Communication with my USPSA Sponsor broke down and I knew that if I didn’t scramble to find another, I wouldn’t be able to shoot much throughout the season. I reached out to Jerry Cruz, my Stogie Review Partner, and pitched the idea wearing the Stogie Review Logo at matches in exchange for a little help with reloading. Things worked out and I’m in the process of setting myself up …

Southern Chester USPSA: October 2013

In Firearms, USPSATags Firearm, Match, Pistol, USPSAOctober 22, 2013Leave a comment Walt

Last weekend was bittersweet. Southern Chester USPSA was holding its last match of the season. The upside was that any weekend at a USPSA Match is a good one. To make things even better, I designed a stage for this match and was looking forward to some running and gunning after a month off. The last match of the season for Southern Chester USPSA is their annual Revolver Friendly Match. Shooters are encouraged to dust off the wheel guns and …

Instagram post 2188903448250909365_205973269 When I first heard about the concept of an Infinity Bottle - I knew I had to make one. While putting it together I thought it would be amazing (lots of good whiskey went into the bottle). The finished product is... well, a little weird...

I’m looking forward to tinkering with it and seeing how it evolves over time.

Instagram post 2185999451068158668_205973269 Nice mild night to be out in the deck with a cigar and a little Makers Mark. Also picked up a bottle of Maker’s 46 - I’m curious how they compare.

Instagram post 2174349788267187207_205973269 Back in my youth I remember the occasional shot of Wild Turkey 101 and how rough it was. At least a decade later, pored neat and sipped on, this goes down surprisingly easy. At $25 per bottle I’d say this is definitely one of the more memorable “Budget Bourbons” I’ve had.
