Wendler 5/3/1 While I may only be two weeks into the Boring but Big Template of Wendler 5/3/1, I feel like I’m making solid progress. I’ve been consistently hitting the AMRAP Set Goals and increasing my projected 1-Rep Max Weight. When the next cycle begins I believe my app will use the new weights to generate my lift figures. Last week I sat down and began outlining a blog post that would take you, my readers, through my workout session for the previous week. Part way through the post I told myself I’d never do it again. It was just too involved for a simple blog post. Here we are a week later and I’m at it again. Sometimes I think that I have a bit of a masochistic streak. I wake up each morning, pull myself up out of bed, and eagerly await the muscle soreness that comes after a tough workout. I know that muscle soreness isn’t the best way to judge the effectiveness of a workout but I see it as a little pat on the back for a job well done. When mornings with muscle soreness come few and far between, or stop altogether, …
Being an 80’s kid, I remember well what life was like before the internet. Simple things like getting a post-card or letter in the mail was exciting. These days my mailbox seems to be a healthy blend of bills and junk mail. The luster is mostly gone but on the rare occasion, when a letter or card shows up, the magic returns and correspondence seems fun again. With the internet as big as it is, our mailboxes have been mostly …
