Stowe Archers: September 2013 3D Archery Shoot

In ArcheryTags 3D, 3D Archery, Archery, Bow, Mission, StoweSeptember 27, 20132 Comments Walt

There is nothing like seeing your child’s face light up at the simple mention of going to an archery club. I’m very fortunate that my three year old daughter has such an interest in one of my hobbies. I’ve decided to nurture this interest and allow it to grow. As a result, my daughter and I have been spending as much time as possible together at Hamburg Game Association. When the 3D Archery Season came to a close, Hamburg Game …

Hamburg Game Association: September 3D Archery Shoot

The past couple of weeks have been very hectic. Last week things came to a crescendo with work projects piling up and the highly anticipated Mid Atlantic Section Championship, at Lower Providence Rod & Gun Club, taking place over the weekend. With everything I had going on between work and play, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to make it to the last 3D Archery Shoot of the year at Hamburg Game Association. I shot the Section Championship …

It pains me to say it but, the outdoor 3D Archery Season is quickly coming to a close. As a result, I’m trying to get out to as many archery shoots as I can. Fortunately, Hamburg Fish & Game is relatively close to home and my daughter enjoys spending time at the club. Just like last week, my daughter and I headed out to the club to spend some quality time in the woods. I didn’t think it was possible …

Archery Practice with Mission Craze Bow

I have a terrible habit of starting hobbies at the tail end of their respective seasons. USPSA is a great example of this as I got serious about the sport in October of 2011. The season ended in November and I was left desperately waiting for the new season to begin in April of the following year. Archery is turning out much the same way. My plan is to attend the August 2013 3D Shoot at Hamburg Fish & Game …

Shooting My New Mission Craze Bow

In ArcheryTags Bow, Craze, Mission, VideoSeptember 13, 20122 Comments Walt

Over the summer, I made a decision that I’ve been putting off for some time. Since I was young, I’ve always wanted to try my hand at hunting. Last year I even got as far as taking the mandatory Hunter Safety Course offered through the Pennsylvania Game Commission. I easily passed the class but never made it out into the woods. Much like my situation with competitive shooting, I couldn’t track down a friend that was into the hobby and …

Instagram post 2194655705206466528_205973269 8 Miles in the woods today - we’re both beat!
Instagram post 2188903448250909365_205973269 When I first heard about the concept of an Infinity Bottle - I knew I had to make one. While putting it together I thought it would be amazing (lots of good whiskey went into the bottle). The finished product is... well, a little weird...
.
I’m looking forward to tinkering with it and seeing how it evolves over time.

Instagram post 2185999451068158668_205973269 Nice mild night to be out in the deck with a cigar and a little Makers Mark. Also picked up a bottle of Maker’s 46 - I’m curious how they compare.

Instagram post 2179511146457681213_205973269 Took the dog for a walk and decided to finish off my cigar with a little Monkey Shoulder when I got back. It’s a nice change of pace but I think I like bourbon a little better.

Instagram post 2174349788267187207_205973269 Back in my youth I remember the occasional shot of Wild Turkey 101 and how rough it was. At least a decade later, pored neat and sipped on, this goes down surprisingly easy. At $25 per bottle I’d say this is definitely one of the more memorable “Budget Bourbons” I’ve had.
