Syrus gets a new Veterinarian

In PetsTags Dog, Pets, Puppy, VeterinarianFebruary 19, 20108 Comments Walt

The day before Reading was hit with more than eighteen-inches of snow, Syrus was acting a little strange. He seemed to be favoring one of his hind legs, at the time I simply thought he must have slept on it improperly and it fell asleep. After his morning outing, he came into the house walking on three-legs. The hind leg he was favoring was now tucked up under him and he was not using it to walk. I was not …

Woke up to Syrus using my arm for a pillow

In PetsTags Dog, Pets, Puppy, Stories, SyrusDecember 28, 20092 Comments Walt

The dog owners out there reading this can probably relate to how my night winds down. Before my head hits the pillow, my wife and I move throughout the house taking care a of a few things. We make sure the lights are all doused, with the exception of the light on our refrigerator door, and we get a jump start on the day by doing any little things which may save us some time the following morning. While this …

Shooting The Breeze: Update on Syrus

In RamblingsTags Dog, Puppy, SyrusJuly 8, 20091 Comment Walt

Yesterday I had a little free time to myself and thought that time would best be used to work on a quick video post for the site. With me being back to work, its been rough falling back into the routine I developed for myself some time ago. Not having anything in mind to discuss, I thought it was as good a time as any to do a quick update on Syrus. I believe the last update was around the …

Shooting The Breeze: More Dog Talk

In PetsTags Dog, Pets, Puppy, SyrusMay 20, 20095 Comments Walt

This week I had plans on either doing a review for Stogie Review or a First Impressions video for this site. Before firing up the camera I discovered that Stogie Review was having server issues. Getting frustrated with the situation, I figured that it wasn’t the best time to try and focus on a cigar for a thorough review. Instead of forcing a review, I fired up the camera and went with a Shooting The Breeze format. I decided to …

Shooting The Breeze: Dog Training Progression

In PetsTags Dog, Pet, Puppy, Syrus, TraiingMay 11, 20091 Comment Walt

Over the past few weeks I have been trying to shoot a video to share a few words on how Syrus’ obedience training has been going. This week I was unable to attend the class and my wife filled in for me. Without any first hand information, I decided to skip the video this week. Instead I fired up the camera to talk about the progression Syrus has made since training has started. Today I went to visit my Mother …

Shooting The Breeze: Dog Training Week 3

In PetsTags Dog, Pet, Puppy, SyrusApril 30, 20092 Comments Walt

Another dog training week has come and gone, but this time the weather was actually pleasant! After an orientation with snow flurries, a week of rain and mud, and a thunderstorm which canceled a class, I was loosing hope in actually having a nice night to train the pup. After a ridiculously hot April day reaching 91 degrees, temperatures dropped towards the evening and made for a nice night. Week three of training started off like any other week, I …

Instagram post 2188903448250909365_205973269 When I first heard about the concept of an Infinity Bottle - I knew I had to make one. While putting it together I thought it would be amazing (lots of good whiskey went into the bottle). The finished product is... well, a little weird...

I’m looking forward to tinkering with it and seeing how it evolves over time.

Instagram post 2174349788267187207_205973269 Back in my youth I remember the occasional shot of Wild Turkey 101 and how rough it was. At least a decade later, pored neat and sipped on, this goes down surprisingly easy. At $25 per bottle I’d say this is definitely one of the more memorable “Budget Bourbons” I’ve had.
