Wednesday night was rough. I had trouble getting to sleep and despite having taken a muscle relaxer, I woke up when I heard my wife come home from work. After she came to bed I spent at least an hour tossing and turning. My back ached and I couldn’t find a comfortable enough position to fall asleep.
When my alarm went off a couple of hours later, I just couldn’t get out of bed. It hurt to lay there but I was so tired that I endured the pain just to close my eyes for a little longer. I had hoped to hit the gym for an early cardio session before work but I just couldn’t make it happen.
I got out of bed a little later than usual and my back immediately felt better as I began to move around. After work I headed out into the yard to rake some leaves. We have a pretty big yard and I like to break it up into quadrants when raking season is upon us.
After about 90 minutes of raking leaves my arms were sore and I was sweating. I finished just in time to drink a protein shake and cool off before my 5th Personal Training Session at CustomFit Training. I was expecting a difficult workout and Bobby delivered.
I burned about 540 calories during the session and learned a lot about myself. I learned that I can go farther than I thought if I dig deep and summon a bit of that inner rage when fatigue sets in. It does wonders…
