The Warhouse Gym in Reading

Back in May I had a bit of a wakeup call and decided that it was time to make a change. I had been down the path of living a healthier lifestyle before but had fallen off the wagon. This time I was determined to make it stick and began outlining a plan.

I joined a local gym – Anytime Fitness of Gilbertsville, and started working out. Before long I realized that lifting weights was something that I enjoyed. As I spent more time in the gym I began turning to YouTube for motivation and guidance. This is when I began watching videos featuring CT Fletcher.

CT Fletcher is somewhere along the lines of 60 years old. He has an impressive past and is tremendously motivational. I found myself searching out more of his content in my free time and eventually stumbled on to a video featuring Kai Greene and Dana Linn Bailey.

I came away from that video impressed and searched out another. A behind the scenes video where there was a mention of the Reading Airport. I thought that was very interesting. Why are these guys at the Reading Airport, there aren’t any commercial flights coming or going from there? It became a fleeting thought and slipped my mind as the video went on.

I’ve been passively watching Dana Linn Bailey content since then. Not searching it out specifically but clicking through when something popped up as Recommended on my YouTube home page. Footage from her workouts are always impressive.

Out of the blue, a friend of mine from Facebook Posted a photo from her gym in Reading. World Gym was under new ownership. The flyer had a photo of the new owners. My first thought was Is that Dana Linn Bailey?

Sure enough, the former Ms Olympia and her husband purchased a gym in Reading. Suddenly the Reading Airport reference in the video I had watched made sense. They were local to the area and I had no idea.

Out of curiosity I did a quick Google Search to find the location of the former World Gym – now Warhouse Gym. For the past year I’ve been completely oblivious to it. I’ve been driving past it on my way to and from work. Hundreds of times past the place and I had no idea that it was in the Antietam Shopping Center.

Since I’ve learned that a Bodybuilding Celebrity is the new owner of a local gym, I’ve been paying closer attention to her YouTube Channel. Just a few days ago a tour of the facility was posted and I immediately checked it out.

Simply put, The Warhouse Gym is fucking massive. The Bailey’s went from one room to another, to another, to another. When I thought the place couldn’t possibly be any bigger, they headed down into the basement and showed off another huge space.

If the space alone wasn’t impressive enough, the entire place is getting an overhaul. Both cosmetically and functionally, Warhouse Gym is going to be the place to go in the Reading area. I’d be lying if I said that I’m not a little jealous of my Facebook Friend right now.

I’ve got another year and a half left on my Anytime Fitness of Gilbertsville contract. Even if I didn’t, I’m pretty happy there. Seeing the Warhouse though, it makes me wish we had even a fraction of the equipment in Gilbertsville that they have there.

I’d love to stop in one day and check it out. It looks like Warhouse is going to be The Gym to go to in Reading.
