My Next Motovlog Collaboration – Who Should I Ride With?

There’s a certain kind of ride I love more than any other. No plan, no route, no destination. You’re rolling along and a road catches your eye, so you take it. That road leads to another one that looks interesting, so you take that one too. Before long you’re completely lost – and completely happy about it. Eventually, you find a road you recognize and you ride it home. That’s the kind of ride I caught on camera this time around. And somewhere in the middle of all that wandering, I got to thinking about something I’ve been wanting to make happen for a while now: a real motovlog collaboration.

Why Collaboration Has Been on My Mind

Here’s where I’m at right now. As of this morning, I’ve recorded 34 moto vlogs in March alone. Add in the one before this and the one I’m recording right now and we’re at 36. Not all of them make it to the channel – some just don’t have enough going on and I scrap them – but a lot of them do. I’ve got regular vlogs scheduled on the WaltInPA channel through July. On top of that, I’ve been dropping destination ride videos on Mondays, so some weeks I’m posting twice.

I say all that not to brag but to set up the point: I’m not scrambling for solo content anymore. That opens the door to something I’ve been itching to do – get out there and ride with other people, and actually put that on camera.

What a Motovlog Collaboration Could Actually Look Like

I’ve been turning this over in my head and I think there are a few ways it could go.

Dual Vlogs on the Road

The simplest version is two riders connected over comms, rolling down the road, having a conversation. Connected through the Sennas, mic minis picking up the audio – kind of a podcast on wheels. No agenda, just talking. That format can work really well when the chemistry is there.

I was actually just watching a video from Spaghetti Weston, aka Weston Super Moto Vlog, where he and his wife did exactly that. They used wireless DJI mic minis tied into a video source so you get multiple voices over one video track. It worked out really well. I’m still wondering how they handled communication between helmets during the ride itself – whether they were running a Bluetooth comm unit alongside the mics or they could simply hear one another without additional tech.

Destination Rides Across Multiple Channels

The version I’m most excited about is a group destination ride where we each publish our own footage. Imagine it like this: part one drops on WaltInPA, part two on The Goofy Bastard’s channel, part three on TrekkieMoto, part four on Scott’s Moto Adventures. Everyone gets content, everyone gets a little cross-channel love, and viewers get to see the same trip from four different seats. I think that’s something worth doing.

The Goofy Setup I Almost Got to Test

Speaking of Goofy – I reached out to him because he mentioned wanting to test a dual vlog setup he’s been sitting on. The weather cooperated, I had time, I figured it was worth a shot. He was tied up and couldn’t get out. No big deal. But that conversation is what got this whole collaboration train of thought rolling. We’ll get to it. He’s a funny guy with a limited filter, which makes for good riding company and good video.

Why I Haven’t Made It Happen Yet

Honestly? I’ve brought it up a few times on Discord and it hasn’t gotten much traction. Part of that’s on me – I haven’t pushed hard enough to actually lock something in. Part of it is just logistics. Coordinating schedules, figuring out the tech setup, deciding on a route. It’s not complicated but it does take some planning.

The content backlog I’ve built up takes that pressure off. I’m not trying to fill a hole in the schedule. I’m doing this because I actually want to, which means I can be patient about finding the right person and the right setup rather than just grabbing whoever’s available.

Who Should I Ride With?

That’s where you come in. There are a lot of small channels out there doing good work and I don’t know all of them. If you’re watching this and you think there’s someone out there I’d get along with – someone whose vibe matches up with what I do – drop their name in the comments. Same goes if you’re a rider with a channel and you think we’d make a good pairing. I’m not looking for a production. I’m looking for a good ride and someone worth talking to.

The motovlog collaboration will happen. It’s just a matter of when and with who.
