Even though it is still relatively early, I think that I’m finished writing for day seven of National Novel Writing Month. My goal was to hash out twelve-thousand words and it was a bit of a struggle. I’m feeling a bit run down and just want to spend some time with my wife and daughter before the weekend closes out and we are back to the daily grind.
After yesterdays successful day, I sat down this morning and realized that I painted myself into a bit of a corner. The chapter sort of wrote itself and deviated from the plan a bit, requiring me to do a little shuffling. In addition, the outcome of the chapter produced two new ones (which have yet to be written) in order to properly build it into the story. I’m not completely sure, but I think I am now slightly ahead of schedule, which is a fantastic feeling. Again, there is still time to ad more to todays word count, but I think I’m going to throw in the towel and get back to writing tomorrow.
