Replacing my OEM Glock 17 Barrel with a Lone Wolf

In Firearms, USPSATags Firearm, Glock, Pistol, Production, USPSAMarch 27, 20145 Comments Walt

Earlier this year I was in a bit of a bind. Communication with my USPSA Sponsor broke down and I knew that if I didn’t scramble to find another, I wouldn’t be able to shoot much throughout the season. I reached out to Jerry Cruz, my Stogie Review Partner, and pitched the idea wearing the Stogie Review Logo at matches in exchange for a little help with reloading. Things worked out and I’m in the process of setting myself up …

Southern Chester USPSA: September 2013

In Firearms, USPSATags Firearm, Glock, Match, Pistol, Southern Chester, USPSAOctober 13, 2013Leave a comment Walt

Last month I made the usual trek down to Kennett Square for the September Southern Chester USPSA Match. As usual, the stages were a lot of fun and I was squadded up with a good group of people. I had a pretty decent day overall placing 3rd in Production Division. I pulled a couple of shots and wound up with 3 Mikes on the day. Even so, things felt better than they did for the 2013 Mid Atlantic Section Championship …

The best part of this USPSA stage was a pat on the back for only getting 2 Mikes

In UncategorizedTags Glock, Match, Shooting, USPSAMay 5, 2013Leave a comment Walt

Being told “Good move at the end, though” was the only good thing to come out of my Stage 1 run at yesterdays USPSA Match. Realizing that I was going to get whacked for 2 Mikes at the end of the stage, I made a quick decision to spread them out over two targets to avoid a Faulire to Engage penalty as well. So, what the hell happened? The short version is that I ran out of ammunition on a …

What Would Cause a Glock 19 to Fire a Two Round Burst?

In Firearms, USPSATags Firearm, Glock, MatchMarch 9, 20135 Comments Walt

Over the weekend I attended the March 2013 Special Classifier Match at Lower Providence Rod and Gun Club. The match ran very well and I hadn’t seen anything out of the ordinary, until the very last stage of the day. Mike, a junior shooter and the nephew of the RO, stepped up to the line and prepared to shoot. I situated myself off to the side to snap some pictures of the stage. When the buzzer sounded, the shooter drew …

New Holland IDPA In The Snow

In Firearms, IDPATags Glock, IDPA, Match, PistolFebruary 9, 20131 Comment Walt

Shooting competitively in the winter is something that I’m still getting used to. On the surface it seems simple but having to deal with multiple layers, just so that you can stay on the range for 3 to 5 hours, can be a real challenge. Add a little snow and some ice into the mix and things become even more challenging. Driving out to the February 2013 New Holland IDPA Match was pretty nice, despite the snowfall the night before. …

Ontelaunee IDPA: January 2013

In Firearms, IDPATags Firearm, Glock, IDPA, MatchFebruary 4, 20131 Comment Walt

A couple of weeks back I had the pleasure of shooting the January 2013 Ontelaunee IDPA Match. Shortly after the match, I came down with the flu and got a bit behind in putting video together. This post contains video from the event as well as a bunch of photos of Corey shooting his first IDPA Match. I had a great time shooting, despite having a rather miserable second half. The match started out great and my shots were on …

Instagram post 2188903448250909365_205973269 When I first heard about the concept of an Infinity Bottle - I knew I had to make one. While putting it together I thought it would be amazing (lots of good whiskey went into the bottle). The finished product is... well, a little weird...

I’m looking forward to tinkering with it and seeing how it evolves over time.

Instagram post 2174349788267187207_205973269 Back in my youth I remember the occasional shot of Wild Turkey 101 and how rough it was. At least a decade later, pored neat and sipped on, this goes down surprisingly easy. At $25 per bottle I’d say this is definitely one of the more memorable “Budget Bourbons” I’ve had.
