CB750F Restoration - Walt In PA

If you've been watching the channel for a while, you may have caught a few hints dropped here and there about a project bike. This post is me coming clean about all of that. The CB750F restoration series is officially underway, and this is where it starts. There's a 1976 Honda CB750F sitting in my garage right now that belonged to my grandfather. It's been in storage since 1980. That's not a typo. This bike has been sitting for over four decades, and I'm going to bring it back. As of right now, the last motovlog in the queue doesn't publish until sometime in December. That's a long runway, and somewhere in those videos I start dropping hints about a project bike coming up. The problem is I don't know exactly when those hints show up. So if you're watching a motovlog a few months from now and I mention a project bike like it's still in the future, that project bike is this one. There's only one. It's the CB750F. We're already in it. I didn't want to wait until the regular channel schedule caught up to start talking about this build. August or September felt too far out. So rather than hold back, I'm running the restoration series on its own track starting right now. Why I'm Documenting This Build A few things drove this decision beyond just being excited about the bike (though honestly that's most of it). The CB750F belonged to my grandfather, so there's some personal history wrapped up in this project. That matters to me and it's going to be part of the story as the series goes on. The other reason is more practical. I'm not a mechanic. I know enough to be dangerous and not much more. This restoration is going to involve a lot of questions, and I want those questions answered while they're still relevant. If I scheduled these videos out the same way I do with motovlogs, I'd be posting a video asking for advice and getting answers three months later when I'm already past that point in the build. That doesn't work for anyone. Keeping the restoration series current means I can actually have a real conversation with you in the comments as the work is happening. That's the plan. What's Coming in the Series The short version is everything. Teardown, cleaning, sourcing parts, figuring out what's actually wrong with a bike that's been sitting since 1980, and eventually getting it running again. I'll be documenting all of it.
